Letting Go: Yougo’s Shaver and Myra’s Spatula
Year of Work: 2025
Mixed media installation
Dimensions: 165 x 112 x 80 cm
In this installation, everyday plastic objects are displayed as if they were archaeological finds. It is constructed from a shaver, a plug, a spatula, a key and tile adhesive. A repurposed plaster bust, altered into a gender-neutral figure, grows “hair” from discarded cosmetic bottles — a contemporary Medusa. Around it, donated household items appear as future relics of the Anthropocene. The work questions how our material culture will be remembered — and what it reveals about the substances we place on and into our bodies.
